This is the second highest peak of the Pyrenees. Its south face is skiable from the very top. I love mountains where you can put your snowboard on the very summit. The highest part of the descent (which you can see in the photo) is a great slope with a considerable incline. I can’t help but feel extremely small there. Looking at those tiny blotches in the upper right hand corner I’m reminded of the sheer enormity of this mountain. I climbed it on April 9th, 2011, on a quiet, sunny day: perfect for the pursuit of my main pastime. César Asenjo (a great mountaineer and friend) accompanied me on this adventure and both his knowledge of the place and his attention to detail were key to the success of the mission.
Esta es la segunda altura del Pirineo. Por su cara Sur es esquiable desde la misma cima. Me encantan las montañas en las que te puedes poner la tabla en la mismísima cima. La parte alta del descenso (la que puede verse en la foto) es una gran pala con una pendiente considerable. Creo que es imposible no sentirse pequeño allí. Cuando miro esas mierditas (personas) de la esquina superior derecha de la foto recuerdo muy bien la inmensidad de la mole. Subí a esta montaña el 9 de abril de 2011, en un día soleado y tranquilo, perfecto para el desempeño de mi principal afición. César Asenjo (gran montañero, esquiador y amigo) me acompañó en esta aventura. Su conocimiento del lugar y su buen hacer fueron clave para el éxito de la misión.
