Here you can see César Asenjo and I on the summit of Tucón Royo which commands fantastic views. It was April 10th, 2011. This is one of the best summits in the area for skiing and snowboarding and, furthermore, it´s easily reached from Ángel Orús hut, where we were staying for two nights. I have a photo where you can see that this mountain is very suitable for sliding, but I don´t want to put it here because my rules are strict: this blog can have only one photo per entry. Other than this, I should mention that I got a hard reminder on this mountain of something I already knew: when descending by snowboard, it’s sometimes well worth changing the normal line of descent to avoid areas with stones, even if this is inconvenient. The price for not doing so here was paid by my poor snowboard, which came away with a great big scratch that could easily have been avoided.
Ahí estamos César Asenjo y yo, en la cima del Tucón Royo, dominando fabulosas vistas. Fue el día 10 de abril de 2011. Esta es una de las mejores cumbres de la zona para el esquí o el snowboard y además se alcanza muy bien desde el Refugio Ángel Orús, donde estuvimos alojados por dos noches. Tengo una foto en la que puede verse que esta montaña es muy apta para el deslizamiento, pero no la quiero poner aquí porque mis normas son rígidas: este blog solo puede tener una foto por entrada. A parte de esto diré que aquí repasé una lección que ya sabía: cuando se baja haciendo snowboard, a veces vale la pena cambiar la línea de descenso para evitar zonas con piedras, aunque ello suponga un inconveniente. Por no hacerlo aquí, castigué a mi pobre tabla con un rayón que podría haber evitado fácilmente.
